The HON Code of Conduct

HON Code of Conduct (HONcode) for medical and health-related Web sites is a statement of the ethical guidelines set forth by the Health on the Net Foundation. The Health On the Net Foundation (HON), created in 1995, is a Non-Governmental Organization under the aegis of the Direction générale de la santé Département de l'Action Sociale et de Santé (DASS - République et canton de Genève, Switzerland).

HON's mission is to guide lay persons or non-medical users and medical practitioners to useful and reliable online medical and health information. HON provides leadership in setting ethical standards for Web site developers. The Foundation promotes the effective and reliable use of the new technologies for telemedicine in healthcare around the world. (the HON code website).

The following are the HONcode guidelines, and the manner in which this site complies with these guidelines:

1. Authority

Any medical or health advice provided and hosted on this site will only be given by medically trained and qualified professionals unless a clear statement is made that a piece of advice offered is from a non-medically qualified individual or organization.

The "pointing fingers" presented on this site are not provided as a diagnosis, prescription or treatment. The content of this site is the result of the personal experiences and subsequent research of Christopher Wynter who is NOT a qualified medical professional. (Read more in our disclaimer)

2.Complementarity

The information provided on this site is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her existing physician.

The information on this site is provided as much as possible in "Plain English" to encourage people to look at their personal options, as a convenience and solely for informational purposes. It is not provided as a replacement of the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her existing physician or other medical professional. 3. Confidentiality

Confidentiality of data relating to individual patients and visitors to a medical/health Web site, including their identity, is respected by this Web site. The Web site owners undertake to honor or exceed the legal requirements of medical/health information privacy that apply in the country and state where the Web site and mirror sites are located.

We do not release any computer user information. We do not host patient records and do not use cookies or scripts to collect our visitors' personal information. Our web hosting software registers all inbound IP addresses with respective dates and times of accesses. This information is used to analyze our web traffic and help us further our site development. No other information is collected from our visitors.

Communications between the site and site visitors may involve the exchange of name, email addresses and other personal information. This information is only used by the webmaster to respond back to the query. Thereafter, the information is removed from our system.

The purpose of this website is to provide "pointing fingers" in plain English. In cases when informational content is hosted on our site, the author(s), references to source data, and last revision date are clearly identified.

5. Justifiability

Any claims relating to the benefits/performance of a specific treatment, commercial product or service will be supported by appropriate, balanced evidence in the manner outlined above in Principle 4.

We do not make any claims with respect to the benefits/performance, accuracy, or reliability of any advice, opinion, statement, treatment, product or service displayed on or distributed through the interwoven transpersonal webs of anunda and lifestreams.

6. Transparency of authorship

The designers of this Web site will seek to provide information in the clearest possible manner and provide contact addresses for visitors that seek further information or support. The Webmaster will display his/her E-mail address clearly throughout the Web site.

All enquires are replied to as soon as practible given Christopher's personal responsibilities. We can also be contacted through our discussion forum

7. Transparency of sponsorship

Support for this Web site will be clearly identified, including the identities of commercial and non-commercial organizations that have contributed funding, services or material for the site.

The interwoven transpersonal webs of anunda and lifestreams are published entirely not-for-profit. Funding for this site is provided by Christopher Wynter and through personal donations from individuals who have chosen to assis with this funding. The sites receive no external funding from any other source, including advertising.

8. Honesty in advertising and editorial policy

If advertising is a source of funding it will be clearly stated. A brief description of the advertising policy adopted by the Web site owners will be displayed on the site. Advertising and other promotional material will be presented to viewers in a manner and context that facilitates differentiation between it and the original material created by the institution operating the site.

The interwoven transpersonal webs of anunda and lifestreams do not receive funding from any kind of advertising or the dissemination of promotional material or from the sale of goods and services.
